Karolina Korfanty

Karolina is originally from Perth and has competed in Ice Dance and Single Ladies division. Having enjoyed a successful career, she is now a dedicated coach with a passion for raising the profile of figure skating. She has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sport Coaching, and is also a Level 1 Sport Trainer. She is a current member of the Australian Professional Skaters Association. She has a wealth of knowledge to offer in both on and off ice training. Her specialist areas include:
Program choreography
Element technique (Jumps & Spins)
Plyometrics & Jump Rotations
Mental preparation for competitions

 

Kylie Carlson

Kylie has studied music and drama from the age of 5 and was a student at both the Junior and Senior Department of the Royal College of Music in London. She spent 7 years as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and toured with them extensively during this time. Kylie also spent 4 years working in the pit orchestras for many of the Westend Shows including: Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Starlight Express, Time, Chess, 42nd Street and Me and My Girl.

Her area of expertise lies within both musical interpretation and drama and performance. Kylie has come to skating as an adult and is also the parent of Summer Carlson, who is also a member of Skate Academy.

Tonia Walker

 

Tonia began dancing as a young child and studied Cecchetti - the internationally renowned method of Classical Ballet Training in Melbourne under the guidance of both local and international teachers.  She trained at the National Theatre, Victorian College of the Arts and Australian Ballet School.  Tonia completed her student exams levels and graduated with honours at an Advanced level.  She then went onto perform in regional dance performances and amateur theatre before graduating from Monash University in Education.  This has allowed her to choreograph and teach drama/dance in Victorian Primary schools.  Tonia has worked as a Ballet Teacher, Examiner and Primary School Teacher over the past 20 years.  She has also qualified as a Cecchetti Ballet Teacher and has trained through a rigorous system of examinations for professional teaching qualifications to achieve her Associate level.  More recently, Tonia has enjoyed ice skating as an adult and has a passion for improving the movement and artistic skills of our young skaters in Victoria.  

 

Her qualifications include: Bachelor of Education, Graduate Diploma in Applied Science (Instructional Design), Fitness Leaders Certificate, and Associate Teacher for the Cecchetti Method of Classical Ballet.
